So.  We kicked off the month of April with a little more hatred headed in Carrie Underwood’s direction.  I mean, the biznitch called our Mikey fat on Ellen.  STILL NOT COOL, CARRIE!!!!

Also in April, I tried to take my nephew to the movies, and it was a major FAIL on my part.  Poor Caden.  He’s probably still traumatized from the experience.  (Or maybe that’s just me.)

I finally did get to take the child to the movies over Easter weekend, and I recapped it all right here.  Apparently, I ate some chocolate too.

And I wrote some more Single Girl Files posts regarding Friday Night Depression Club and why I need a man around the house.

By the end of the month, I was all caught up in the Royal Wedding, and on Will & Kate’s big day, I celebrated their love with 10 Things I Love!

Moving into May…I shared with you a picture of Channing Tatum that had me drooling.  No need to click a link.  It gives me great pleasure to post it again!

I got a litter of puppies in May. (Not real ones, don’t worry.)   And I cooked my first turkey.

IMG_2314 Hand up a turkey’s ass…smile, smile, joy, joy!

I also seemed to talk a lot about cutting the grass.

The best thing about May?  THE WORLD DIDN’T END.  Phewf.  (And we also discovered that after a few drinks, Shania Twain’s “Up” is my brother’s favourite song.  Weird.)

Along came June, and we kicked that month off with a last-minute ticket to the Kid Rock concert, which was awesome!!  (Thanks again, Vikki & Mark!)

Also in June, I shared a post about some of the Heirlooms & Treasures I inherited from my grandmother.

And I told you about a guy I had a crush on in college.  (Yep.  We really did call him The Captain of Heat.)

On June 21st, my cousin Ryla was born, thus inspiring the Baby Name Game post, which is still one of my favourites to go back and read.  It also generated one of the longest comment threads I’ve ever had on this blog!

I can’t believe it was in June that we had The Great Flood of 2011, which washed out a huge gap in the highway near our town and left Lindsay, Ryan & I stranded on the wrong side of it!  What a night that was… Doesn’t feel like it was that long ago!!  (The road was finally repaired by September.)

hwy 148 june 2011 Yes.  This is really what the road looked like after the wash-out.

Not even joking.

As June drew to a close, I looked forward to our community’s annual Canada Day bash, and I shared pictures of what a blast it was the year before!

Seriously, I can’t believe how quickly this year has gone.  While going through my posts, I was like, “WHAT?!  I thought Kid Rock was way later in the summer…”  Feels like only yesterday that I wrote some of those posts!!

Stay tuned next week for the July-August-September recap! :)

I'm really surprised no one got hurt in the big wash out...and I'm so thankfully I played hookie and left work early that day ;)

It truly was the year of the crazy floods. We didn't have washouts here in our town, but we had a flash flood at night in the mountains that washed out a road and took some cars with it. It was tragic in that a family drowned--all except the father.

Cool about the Kid Rock concert!

I remember all this, and don't worry, I'm not a Carrie Underwood fan at all, so yeah, she's not cool... LOL :)

And that road is still unreal!

I tried to click on a couple of your links and it wouldn't go. It could just be my computer acting stupid.

Channing=panties combusting.

That road is scary! Did anyone get hurt? Can you imagine it being dark and not knowing the road was out? Oh my!

Thanks for linking up again with us my dear!

Oh my gosh, that washed out road is so scary!! It's like something you'd see in the movies!!
Your niece is so sweet, and I love her name.

Love your expression in the turkey pic! You are one up on me, I have never cooked a turkey!

I was thinking the same thing when I did my recap--seems like I just wrote these! I can't believe that road--hopefully no one got hurt!

I enjoyed reading your recap stories!

I know exactly what you mean. It feels like this year went by so much faster than years past.

Oh you poor thing, with the car accident. That must have been awful!

Baby names are such a challenge. Match has come up with all kinds of crazy names for babies, but we have some trouble agreeing on them. I also suffer from baby fever bad, so I feel you girl! Oh and girl names are the hardest. I kept coming up with names, only to remember girls that were bitchy that had that name, ha.

I can't believe I forgot to include our royal wedding obsession in my review of this quarter - we were so into it. And that road actually looking that way is totally crazy!

ahhh, Ryla, now that is a pretty name!! We have a rolling R theme with our kids and never thought of Ryla! Pretty cool!! Although I am having a hard time getting the right R name out when I'm all flustered! You're like a turkey cookin' pro! Look at you with your hand up its rear! Joy Joy! hah!
