The Best Thing I've Never Seen

WOOOO - HOOOOO!!

Guess what, gang? The Sens won one game. The Sens won two games. And last night, we put together what is called a three-game winning streak!!!

Now, I'll admit, the game 3 win wasn't as pretty as it should have been. We were playing the basement-dwelling Philadelphia Flyers, who are pretty much considered a gimme this year in the NHL. Then, we went and spotted 'em a two-goal lead before the game was barely into the second period.

The game wasn't televised, so at this point, I stomped over to the stupid radio I was listening to in the basement, and shut it off. I couldn't believe it. After all that hard work, beating Buffalo - twice - and the Minnesota Wild, and now here we were, blowing it against the lowly Flyers. I was so frustrated, and I was already dreading the post-game backlash. Fire Muckler! Fire Murray! Trade Alfie! I'm not cheering for this dumb team anymore!! All that angst from a few weeks ago would come flooding back in the blink of an eye, and once again we'd be the Sad-Sack Sens, the most under-achieving team in the NHL.

I sat, stewing for a few minutes, chewing my fingernails and trying to find something good to watch on TV. But there was nothing. So I finally gave in and turned the radio back on.

And lo and behold, Mike Fisher had just capitalized on a powerplay, drawing us within one. I breathed a small sigh of relief.

With 30-some seconds left in the middle frame, Captain Alfie potted another, and we were back to a clean slate with the whole third period ahead of us. Things were looking up again.

I'll be honest - I didn't even listen to the third period, I was watching One Tree Hill. But on a commercial break, I checked in again to find the game in Overtime. With time winding down, I was pretty much convinced we were headed to a shoot-out, when suddenly Dean Brown's annoying voice screamed: ...And he scores!! Wade Redden!!

Music to my ears!

So now we're one game below .500 hockey, and things are finally rolling here in Sens Land.

That game was definitely the best thing I've never seen.

GO SENS GO!!

Well Jill! I love hockey recaps! They rock! They send chills down my spine! Ha, I am almost as sick as you are nowadays!

On my way home from the pool I turned it back and forth between LIVE 88.5 and AM1200 and I heard the first goal and got fed up... but I heard this morning and read the reviews in the Citizen. Good old Fisher! Redden! And I guess Alfredsson but I really don't care for him.

Last night on Top Model the 5 remaining contestants had to Go See different high end designers in Spain. Melrose visited the most designers and got back on time and won the challenge.

CariDee made out with some Spanish man... looked like more went on but the show didn't let on.

For the photoshoot they had to pose in a ring with a crazy blood thirsty bull and when the guys said run it was because they were being charged and they had to run behind this wall thing. I would have been shaking like a leaf! But the pictures were cool.

Michelle, the twin that I don't find very pretty looking, was cast out of the competition because she just didn't want it enough. Her twin sister who didn't have the natural talent Michelle had got to stay because she had the drive to go for it.

I am still rooting for Melrose!

Tonight is OC and Survivor! Big night for TV, I am hoping to get in and see Jean-Marc about my car... and I hope the roads are grated! I called yesterday and apparently they were going to send someone but when I got home nothing had been done. If it's not done by the weekend I will be calling again! Yes that right, just call me Miss Get'er Done! No one messes with me! :)

Last night I played with Cody for a bit and he waved at me for the first time. I was surprised because on Monday night he didn't know how. I tried reading a book to him but he just wanted to grab it and slam it into the floor. Christine thinks he is getting a tooth. He's at a cute age now. I will have to get him a Christmas present for sure, but I don't know what.

I see your computer is up and running at work Jill - or do you plan on leaving early again today...lol. I'm rooting for Caridee, I just can't stand the way Melrose is always smiling and its a stupid smile - anyways, it looks like she loses it next week - Caridee apparently gets frozen up or something. I was thinking the same thing when she made out with the Spanish guy and i was thinking, hopefully her bf wasnt watching cuz she does have a boyfriend cuz she was on the phone with him after she told the girls that she tried to kill herself. Anyways, its almost done - i think if anything, it will be between Melrose and Caridee, however Eugena is picking herself up - i dont really like the other twin that is left. The twin that left, was she the one that came out of the closet and confessed she was a lesbian??
Sara - about Saturday night for the murder mystery, i'll go down and save seats and before you even come down, just drop graham off at home - i told Ricky and he said they can play playstation...
Jill - have you got the new Keith Urban cd - i fianlly just listened to the whole thing and its not that bad, i really like number 2 - Shine - number 4 is a remake of a song that Phil Collins does, except Keith's is more accoustic and slow and sexy....i find Keith just has a sexy way of playing music - he does a song for Katrina Relief with Brooks and Dunn called Raise the Barn and its got good rythmn too....
oh lastnight, Ricky and I picked up our car at Toyota (yet again) and the radio is FINALLY fixed!! YEAH!

Anyways thats all for now - this day is going by slow

Yeah Michelle (the one that left) is the one who came out of the closet on the show.

My hands are super dry today, it's not even funny, it's from being in the chlorine I know it.

I find the day is going by a little on the slow side as well. I am exhausted and just want to sleep... so that might be contributing to the boredom as well.

Hey guys!
Yeah, today is going slow...
I spent yesterday playing with Caden. He was still sick, but feeling better and he wanted to play, so that was a good sign. He still slept a lot, but his fever seems to be gone.
PK - Books are one of Caden's favourite things to play with. He doesnt' actually let you read the story, though - when I try, he slams the book closed, but then opens it back up again.
Stace - Haven't got the new CD yet, I had it in my cart (along with the Killers new one and Doc Walker) a few weeks ago and then I put them all back. I have them all on my Xmas list, so I'll wait til after Xmas to buy them!! Glad to hear the car radio is finally working! lol...
Sharon - I can't believe my hokcey re-caps send chills down your spine...hahaha!! I'm so excited that you love them as much as me (almost)!!
Tonight is the LAST PRACTICE and for some reason I'm really friggin' nervous. I'm breaking out in itchy red spots on my face and neck, and I think they must be from stress. And they're stressing me out even more. I'm going to look like a tool with hives all over my face.
Tomorrow night is Mountainview Xmas Party - Yipee!! Should be fun! Doug Kennedy is going to be my date again. But I'll have to behave with the big show on Saturday!

Anonymous said...

Jill - after the party at Pine Lodge I guess you guys will be heading back to Gavans - oh and my brother could always be your date too don't forget! Shannon's birthday is tomorrow night, so Ricky and I will probably just run over there, give her our gifts, have some cake and go home and maybe decorate the tree. I dont know - we have a pretty busy weekend this weekend. Shannon said that its Chris McCann at Gavans this weekend, haven't heard her in awhile and yes you better behave cuz of the show saturday night....
This blog (or anyone now till Saturday) should mention that this Saturday will be the ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY that Jill stumbled across Mr. Wilbur McLean!! That's right, for those who don't know, it was last year when Jill was in the Murder Mystery and having a little too much to drink and just talking away to good ole Will...then we met up with him AGAIN around December 11th at the Christmas House tours, thats when it was starting, then oh, wait, Wilbur ditches his car or something and had to wait for something at Trudeaus so calls Jill to arrange a "lunch date" with friends of course - so Hollie and I were in attendance with Jill that day, leaving me beside Jill. I think that's when it should have gotten started but I think that's when Jill realized that he was different. Thought I would recap that story - i know Sara and I love that story - along with the Phat Farm and stuff....HAHA!!
Take care,

Well I get really excited about the SENS playing, I don't care about any other team in the league... just the SENS because I know them. And I am quite excited for Saturdays excursion, Joce is actually going to join me for the expedition and get some CC FZ tickets. I might pick up a pair of those as well, then that would be two events to go to ... if you know what I mean lol... And I think that it's making me more excited about hockey!

Man... it's only 10:55, I want to go to bed!

Jill said...

Wow, Stace...thanks so much for the Wilbur re-cap. I almost forgot how that story went. Great memories.

NOT!!!

Man, I hope he's not there Saturday night...

PS - Another email from Chris Malone this morning to tell us that they're back at Atko's next weekend and he hopes to see some of us there, so if anyone wants to go let me know!! Also, they're in the process of booking at Gavan's the weekend of Dec. 22-23 - but he'll confirm that when it's finalized. And he said to say hi to everybody. :o)

Was he mad that John cancelled them the last time?

Jill said...

He didn't say anything about the last time - but I heard that it was dead up there on the Friday night, too, so that could be why he's really hoping some of us come to see them. Guess he won't be laughing at dead ol' Gavan's anymore! LOL

Since when does Johnny K have bands on Saturday nights too? I always thought it was just Fridays and special occasions?

he probably wasnt mad that it was cancelled if he hadnt already left home - that would make me mad, get there then be told that they're cancelled.

Well I guess it was because there was supposed to be a stag that Saturday night that they were playing there. I think he shuts down early on Saturday nights because everyone goes to Killarney's. Does anyone know if the Baby Einstein dvd's are any good?

Jill said...

Thanks for the info PK. I was just checking out the Equity and I noticed that they are also scheduled to play Dec. 8 at Atko's. But just the Friday night that weekend, so I guess there's no Stags or anything on Saturday.

Caden loves his Baby Einstein DVDs. It's about the only thing he actually stops and pays attention to on TV. That, and talkshows where there's lots of applause. He likes to clap with them. Anyways, for adults they are completely annoying and silly, but he loves them! His infant one was just colours and shapes and classical music, but even at 4 months, he'd just sit and stare at the TV. I haven't seen the others, but Kara says he's always watchign them.

Speaking of the Equity Jill - did you see Ricky's ex and her fiance's engagement picture and announcement of their upcoming wedding and reception - i believe the reception is the same night as our potluck so maybe Ricky should go and give his congrats eh? LOL!!!
(It's on Page 3 by the way)
I've heard that the Baby Einstein DVD's are good!

My brother is the best man in their wedding. Mark and Melissa are leaving Saturday night, I think they have to be at the airport for midnight or 2 am or something. There are limos coming to pick everyone up. It cost each person $130 for the limo, but then you don't have to worry about driving all the way there or leaving your car in Montreal for a week, then when you get back and are tired nobody has to drive home. So I get to live at their house for the week and look after all their animals. I am not letting Wilbur out of his cage because I would probably not get him back in, plus I think he chews the walls and furniture. He is a bunny by the way. Then there's the poor cat who doesn't have a name. I can't let him outside because he won't come back in. And then there's Bailey, and she needs to play all the time. So I think I will have my hands full with all the pets. But it was better that I stay there than bring the dog to my house. She likes to come over, but after one night and a day she sits by the door wondering when they are coming back for her. Maybe she won't be as lonely in her own house. Plus I only have a 3 minute drive to work, so I will be saving lots of gas.

LOL...For a second there PK, I thought you were talking about Equity Wilbur. Have fun with all your newly adopted pets!
And yes, Stacy, I saw the announcement!! Ricky definitely ended up with the better catch! ;o) I was wondering if Ricky would be going up to the party to offer his best wishes...tee hee hee...

the Killers...yuck

Anonymous said...

Haha - sounds like you'll have your hands full for sure PK - well good luck, as long as you make sure they're all still alive and kicking when they come back! LOL
Yea when Ricky and her went on their honeymoon in Mexico (who gets married for the second time where you honeymooned the first time...anyways) they also took a limo cuz Ricky said it was cheaper too than paying for parking for your car to stay there and its too much of a hassle to get people to drive you and pick you up and stuff. Oh well - no unfortunately I dont think Ricky will be going to give his congrats!!
