…but holy crap, today I feel CHRISTMASSY!!!
It’s probably because it’s snowing. And also because I was out and about on the weekend to a few local stores that were, of course, playing Christmas music and featuring many bright & cheery decorations and holiday must-haves. And last but not least, I attended the Onslow Elementary School Christmas Craft & Bake Sale, which is guaranteed to put me in a festive mood.
I actually got my Christmas shopping started. In a very small way, but still. It made me feel accomplished.
I also picked up a little addition to my Christmas DVD collection by finding a copy of Little Women in a cheap bin. When I think of Little Women, it makes me think of Christmas, and I can’t wait to watch it.
I’m also feeling very prepared and confident in that I have firm ideas in my mind – and lists made - of what I want to get for the people I have to buy for. So even though I’ve only made a minor dent in my shopping thus far, I know exactly what I plan to get everyone.
Did I mention it’s snowing? It so totally is. It makes this snow-lovin’ kid grin from ear to ear.
And it makes me want to go home right now, whip up a steaming mug of candy cane-flavoured coffee in my Keurig (oh, yes, I bought candy cane-flavoured coffee this weekend), curl up in my favourite cozy quilt, and put on Little Women.
Oh – OH!! – I bought new winter jammies this weekend too. Warm flannel jammies which feature a cute owl wearing a colourful toque. I want to put them on RIGHT NOW.
Despite all of the Christmas running through my veins today, though, I do know that it’s actually a very important non-Christmassy day.
Today, on November the 11th, we take the time to remember. We wear our red poppies and give thanks to the men and women who have served our country, fought and died for our rights, and continue to stand up for us today.
And so I’ll try to keep a lid on the Christmas bursting out of me today, and save it for tomorrow.
Because today is Remembrance Day.
Lest We Forget.

Can't say Christmas is flowing here--we have to get through Thanksgiving first. Then Christmas will happen. With tow boys in the house Christmas will most definitely happen. I have about half of my shopping done.
I know how you feel...though I fully intend on busting out the blake shelton and michael buble christmas cds tomorrow!
I ordered 1 present on eBay this weekend and you would think I was completely finished, I got so excited!
That is cool that everyone wears the red poppies, what a neat tradition.
I wish I had any idea about my lists, I really need to get it figured out especially for out of town family so I can mail things before the post office is a zoo.
It is supposed to be in the 80's here today, so yea no snow ;)
I'm with you, I'm in a Christmassy mood and most people would yell at me because we haven't celebrated Thanksgiving yet, but our Christmas tree is up already. Not decorated, just up (partially to see how the cat would react before putting ornaments on it)
