Good Morning, boys & girls! Settle in and get ready for a recap of last night's Quyon Ball finale!
To be very honest, I really didn't have much interest in who won the game. The studly Ricky Bobby's team was taking on "the young lads". (If you're wonderng why I'm calling Stacy's Ricky "studly", it's because I'm sucking up. I accidentally taped over Survivor before he could watch it. Sorry, Ricky). Ricky's team needed to win 2 games to take the championship, while the other team only needed to win once to claim the title of league champions. Surprisingly, there were quite a few fans in the stands - some, like Graham & Woermke, even travelled from afar to take in the game. Unfortunately for Stacy & I, we ended up surrounded by the parents of the young lads...And apparently, they all felt they were at the World Series or something, and shouted and screamed like a bunch of lunatics. People laugh at the Luskville League for taking things too seriously...hmmm. Even they seemed mild compared to this! OK, maybe not, but there were definitely some cocky, smart-ass dudes out there last night, and one had to keep thinking, "Do they realize this is 3-pitch???"
In any case, Ricky's team struggled, mainly due to the fact that Jimmy Chin struck out pretty much everytime he came up to bat, played miserably in the outfield, and seemed to be throwing balls to invisible people. He never tossed it anywhere near an actual player. (OK, so Jimmy wasn't the only one who had trouble, but his chin's really big, and I figure he's used to getting picked on, so I'll use him as my whipping boy.) I do applaud Stacy & Hollie for cheering for their boys, even when they were down, and while surrounded by fans of the other team. I think we can all agree, after shivering our asses off last night, that it's a blessing the season is finally over. It's way too damned cold to play (or watch) ball!
In other news: For those of you who were not at the ball park last night, you missed one of the finest dog shows I've ever seen. I don't even really like dogs, but there were some darlings there last night! Brian & Curtis' rambunctious puppies, Duke & Tucker, were in attendance, as well as Leslie's teeny little sweetheart Roxie, and of course, Hollie had the ever-adorable Cosmo. However, the new puppy on the block was this sweet little Pomeranian Chihuahua wearing a pink sweater and pink collar. I couldn't believe how cute it was, and immediately I wanted one just like it. (Stacy then reminded me that it wouldn't be able to go for walks with me because it's too small. I guess she's right, but it's sooooo cute). Finding out it was a boy, though, was a bit of a shock. There was just way too much pink for a boy. I think that dog might have some issues...
So that's about it for today...If you don't like ball or dogs, you likely didn't enjoy the blog today, but too bad. It's my world, remember? ;o) Have a good day, everyone!

Hi Jill, Chad said thanks for saying happy birthday, and I say thanks for the golden telephone joke, I haven't gotten any email jokes for a long time. I will have to pass it on. Do you know yet when Steve Agnew's last weekend at Gavan's is?
NICE BALL RECAP!!!!
All you talked about was fans.... at least the score would have been nice. Let me guess, you probably were talking and weren't paying attention to the game.
WICKED
YOUR BROTHER (Like you didn't know.... lol!!)
I have a suggestion from yesterday for Stacy if she's reading, about Jayla's middle name dilemma. I guess people don't do it this way nowadays, but the first girl would have the same middle name as her mother, then the second girl would have the mother's first name, and the same with the boys. Like I have the same middle name as my mom, Ann, and Mark's middle name is John the same as my dad, while Jeremy's middle name is Michael, my dad's first name. Unless you don't like your middle name Stacy and wouldn't want your daughter to have it too. If I ever am lucky enough to have babies, I think I will use the old-fashioned way.
Hi Jill,
Well sounds like you had a croud similar to the one that was watching when the MVP met Ricky's Team. Only they were on Ricky's side and were annoying the crap out of the MVP's.
I am quite excited about this evening, America's Next Top Model is starting! I didn't get to watch the Canadian one over the summer due to a lack of TV hook up :) But now that I am hooked up with a dish, I will be able to watch it.
Thanks for the ball update! I drove by the big Quyon last night on the way home from moms and thought about ball and how I will miss it now.
Sharon
Luke - I paid more attention last night than usual, thank you very much. And if you really must know, the score was something like 18-4 for Brian's team. Happy now???? ;o)
PK - I like your idea for the baby's name. Stacy's middle name is Lynn - Jayla Lynn sounds really nice, I think! As for Steve Agnew - I'm going Friday night to pick up Town Pants tickets, so I'll get the date from Nick then and I'll let you know!
Sharon - Hope you enjoy America's Next Top Model! It's not one of my shows...In fact, I've been in a TV lull since Rockstar & Idol ended. But with the Amazing Race & Survivor starting up, and Grey's Anatomy tomorrow night (YAY!!), I'll be sure to post more TV updates before too long!!
Well I'm a little late this morning with the blog. I had a meeting all morning so I'm just getting on the computer.
I have thought about Jayla Lynn but I don't know how that goes - does it matter that I have Lynn because that is my mother's middle name?? I don't know. It's not such a dilemma just yet, we still have roughly 3 months to decide. Not worried Just yet.
Jill - Ricky wasn't too upset about Survivor, I believe he is going to PPV it tonight, it's only $0.99. I have to tell you this - last night when you dropped me off at home, I went to go downstairs in the basement to get my laundry and there was a LIZARD at the bottom of my stairs. Not impressed. In the last week, I have had a mouse in the bedroom at 5 AM - I've had a toad in the basement and now a LIZARD (well Ricky says it's a salamander). I know they're harmless but they're still gross and yucky and make me chill just the thought of it crawling up the stairs and getting into my bed or something....EEWW now I've got goosebumps.
Anyways, I'm going to close up now but if anyone knows of anyone intersted, I am selling my car - 97 Cavalier, 2 door, burgundy exterior, brand new wheel bearings, brake lines, gas lines and heater, only 182,000 KM - asking $2,300 OBO - please pass around and let me know if anyone would like to buy it.
Take care everyone - can't write ladies seeing how Luke is now involved. Ha!
Sara - hope you had a good night at Sparks and it was a little better than your first day of teaching Pre-K.
Stace - Apparently we had a fairly big "lizard" in our basement cold storage a few weeks ago. (I told dad it was probably a salamander, and he said, "Whatever.") Anyways, he killed it and threw it out before we could see it. Maybe there's an invasion in Quyon?
I dont know - I thought it might have been because we're kinda close to the river, but you're not. I don't know, but I do not like it at all. Ricky wouldn't kill it, he "tried" he said - but then threw it into the cold storage room - where he also threw the toad. I asked him if they move fast and he's like no it didn't move the whole time I was down there...so my question still remains....then why didn't he kill it????? Beats me - he thinks that once they get thrown into the cold storage they can't get back out or something. LOSER!! Anyways, hopefully my cat doesn't start killing these creatures and bringing them upstairs or something. What about Brenda and Wayne? They need any reptiles cuz apparently my house is filled with them? Also, did your mom have any memories of mice, frogs or lizards in that house (along with the skunks and bats??) Ha!
Talk to ya later
We had a salamander at our house this summer, but I think it was either in the garage or outside. My dad took it into the neighbour's field and let him go. It didn't move either, but they kind of pretend to play dead I think when there are people near them, so that's probably why the one in your house didn't move. We had something gross in our basement too, thank God I wasn't home. My mom stepped on something squishy as she was going to the freezer. Then she looked closer at it and it was a black wet spot on the cement. There was something that looked like 2 legs sticking up, so she thought it was a big cricket. Then this wormy thing crawled out of it, about the size of fishing line and I think maybe a foot long? She called my dad down to look at it and he didn't know what it was, Jeremy didn't know either. So how do you kill a slimy wormy snakey thing? They put some paper towels on top of it and my mom took off her slipper and smashed it a few times, but it was still moving, so my dad jumped on it with his work boots. Then they put it in the furnace and set fire to it. So I hope you don't have one of those at your house too! But we haven't seen anything like it since. On a happier note, Chad called me from Pembroke, he bought a car. It's a Mazda 3 like he wanted, and we are picking it up Friday night at 8.
Priscilla - I better not get any squishy things - my basement is dark enough - I guess the solution to that is Ricky will have to do laundry from now on. Friday is an exciting day for Ricky and I too - we go pick up our new car as well. 2007 Toyota Matrix!
Take care
PK I am so jealous of Chad. That is the exact car that I want. But I am waiting as we are mid-construction and already have a good running vehicle, no need for a second one just yet!
Sharon
Holy smokes, guys, guess what - today I bought a 2006 Ford Mustang, red convertible...I pick it up on Friday!
OK, I'm joking. But congrats to everyone who is getting new cars! ;o)
