2014: The Anthem

Last year, after my “I’m gonna rock the shit outta this resolution” post went up, I followed it up with my anthem.

At the time, my song was “Inner Ninja” by Classified.  And quite frankly, back in those days, I think I was just starting to discover my “inner ninja”.  It still pumps me up when I hear it now.

New year.  New challenge.  New Anthem.

I told you guys yesterday about how good 2013 was for me.  Honestly, when I look back on it, there were so many good days.  Each time I reached a goal, I celebrated, and felt amazing.  And each time, I thought to myself, This has gotta be one of the best days of my life…

The best part?  I wasn’t relying on anyone else to make my days amazing.  I was doing it all, for myself.  I was making it a great year for me.  I wasn’t waiting on anyone else to bring the happy for a change.  And it felt really good.

2014?  Well, I’ve already said I want more of the same, and this song really reflects how I feel going into this new year.  It’s “The Best Day of My Life” by American Authors.  It’s catchy, it’s fun, and it’s got such a  positive vibe that I can’t help but declare it my new anthem for 2014.

I know that not every day can be the best day of my life… And I’m well aware that there can be some really crappy days tossed in there along the way.  Things happen – life happens – and we don’t always have control over it.

A year won’t go buy without sadness, heartache, and tears, unfortunately.

But, God willing, the good days will outnumber the bad.  And as long as I stay focused on the positive – my attitude, my outlook, my “project” – well, you just never know…

It just might be another year filled with the best days of my life.

A positive attitude will get you a whole lot further than a negative one. This is something I have to remind myself of more often than I should.
There's a reason they tell you to smile. And no it's not so people will wonder what you're up to.
