I Can't Believe It's Already May!!

OK, so I've got some disgruntled fans of the Blog out there. I know I've been silent for far too long, but let me just explain.

First of all, my last Blog was sort of my farewell to Wade. I was emotional when I wrote it, and to be honest, I haven't gone back to read it since. Because I still don't want to say good-bye to him. It makes me sad; it chokes me up. So I wasn't entirely sure how to follow that one up. For the past few weeks, I've been in a funk...mainly because of Wade. I mean, how else can I explain bursting into tears after I lost at the Canada Day Committee Poker Tournament two weekends ago? I made it to the final table, but when I was the first one put out, I had an emotional break-down of some sort. (Alright, so maybe the rye had something to do with it, too...)

Anyways, moving right along... The next obstacle between the Blog and me has been the fact that there's been no Spring this year. We went straight from Winter to Summer; from snowbanks to heat waves. Which means that we here at Mountainview didn't get the opportunity to "ease into things", like we normally would. Things have been kinda crazy. Little time for Blogging.

Last but not least, I can fairly say that last week was my week from HELL. I twinged something in my back blow drying my hair on Monday morning. Then my Simply Accounting program went retarded on me when we updated to the 2008 version. Tuesday, I stayed home, flat on my back all day, doped up on Robaxacet. Wednesday was spent trying to figure out what was wrong with my Simply Accounting program and switching it back to the old version I'd be working with. Thursday, I had computer issues again in the morning, which left me only the afternoon to complete 3 1/3 days work before leaving for Quebec City for the Karate tournament.

Sheesh. What a week. And clearly no time to even think about Blogging.

But don't worry, guys, I never forgot about you! Today, I'm wiping my slate clean. Yes, things are going to get even busier here at work over the next two months, but today's a new day, a new month. Welcome to May!!

I seriously don't know where the time has gone; Christmas feels like it was just a few weeks ago. But here we are, in the month of May, and there's so much to look forward to. I hopefully won't even have time to think about what it was like last year at this time, watching my team storm through to the Stanley Cup Finals.

A new month, a fresh start. And a renewed promise to pay more attention to you, my faithful Bloggers.

Cheers!!

Just wanted to say nice blog Jill. It is May and I can't believe it. I am not enjoying this cool weather - and yesterday, April 30th we had a little snow squal in Ottawa at like 2 ish - then i was at Sara's lastnight and we were just standing outside talking and it started to like majorly hail - got to Quyon and Ricky was still out raking, none had fallen at home. Weird climate this year for sure. And its not getting better, they were calling for sun and nice on the weekend, but its straight rain until next Thursday I believe - hopefully that changes. We keep getting this rain, the ball field is going to be so flooded, you guys won't be playing ball this year!

Its about time....I came here to put a comment on the last post telling you to get a new one up and when I arrived there was a new one.

Did you get a chance to see the Wade interview on CTV last night?
It was pretty good.....

Anyways hope to be signing the coconut song with ya this weekend

So there WAS an interview with Wade last night! Our sales rep, Todd, called to tell me yesterday that he thought that Wade was going to be on the news last night. I argued with him, told hime they wouldn't be interviewing a guy that everyone knows is on his way out of town...So now I need to know - What did he say????

Not much...how much he liked Ottawa......bunch of crap really that has already been mentioned a thousand times.

He is leaving today I think for BC where he is building a house.

I think they did the interview because they know it will be like a last one kind of thing

I'd heard before that he was building in BC. So today just got sad again. He's leaving today. He might already be gone. Ohhhh...

I love May, with all the flowers and stuff. At least you're busy at work. Summer for me is not busy since my boss hires a summer student to help out, who ends up doing my work because nobody has anything to give her. So it sucks. She starts on Monday. I do like her and we get along, just I have nothing to do. And internet surfing is okay for the first day or two, then you run out of things to surf for. Same as facebook. It gets boring after a while. Oh well. Our grass is growing over in Whitewater Region, we may have to cut it by next weekend! We're picking up our new tractor lawnmower tomorrow afternoon. Exciting times at the Brownlee house.

Don't quote the leaving today thing....I have been wrong once before, back in grade 2

LOL...Kenny you're so humble.

I went to CJOH's homepage & found the video clip of Wade's "farewell" interview. Let's just say it was very bittersweet.

OMG Jill - you are too funny, to get everything off your mind, you better watch the penguins kick some a$$ again and win again in 4 games...lol
no Ricky hopes they lose so at least Pittsburgh will bring some money in cuz i guess they will play at the mellon arena.
priscilla - congrats on the new lawn tractor...i guess you need one for that place - a lot of grass to cut for sure. Ricky was out raking - and when it gets nicer out - i would like to clean up my yard, its not mine though so i could careless. Have to get my brother to get me some topsoil and maybe make it look pretty.

GO RANGERS GO!!

Maybe they can win at least one...

Stacy-If you need some black earth it's $0.97 a bag at Wal-Mart, and their hanging baskets are $9.97. They were a little plain for my tastes though. Next thing I buy is a spade. I cleaned out the flower bed along the side of the garage last weekend, I need the spade to finish it off. There's 4 hostas that I have to split up, and I want to put some bleeding hearts in there too, maybe some impatiens in between. I can't wait!

I'm already feeling the funk of saying bye to the Habs this year and they aren't even out...yet. I think Gainey should go after Wade and cut Streit loose and let some other dumb team overpay for him. friggin useless player in the playoffs. I would like to have Wade here, believe that!

Stacy said...

Thanks Priscilla - you obviously know a lot about flowers and stuff because i dont know even know what a bleeding heart is...haha!
if i ever own my own house someday, i would like to get Gardening for Dummies or something...lol

I don't know anything about flowers either - My poor Uncle Reid toured me all around his garden last year and babbled on about all his flowers, and I didn't have a clue about what he was talking about. But someday I hope to learn about it too - I'll have to borrow that book from ya, Stace...haha...

So the Rangers stay alive last night - WOO-HOO!! Now Ricky can't say he's the only undefeated team in the playoffs anymore! LOL

Kathleen, thanks for saying you'd take Wade - honestly, Montreal would be the ideal location - I could keep a close watch on him then. However, I fear he's headed west, and I don't know how easy it'll be to keep tabs on him then. :(

Bleeding hearts are more of a shade flower, they have little flowers that look like hearts. I like the deep pink ones, but they come in white too. I get my flower knowledge from my mom, she's a flower fanatic. She even had her own greenhouse when she was a teenager, my uncle built it for her. If you ever need any advice about gardening you can ask me. And Sara knows lots too.

Hey Jill,

Nice to see the blog back!

Jill, I've always thought Wade was a solid d-man. I felt kind of bad for the rough ride he's gotten in Ottawa (which I thought was unfair) and he played crappy this year but I think he just needs a change in scenery. Yeah we can be difficult here but if you put your heart and soul into playing hockey we will embrace you in no time. Really hoping Gainey drops Streit and picks up Redden or Rosival from New York cause the team is still missing some pieces.
